Background
Marcus is a very busy person. He likes to take advantage of his time to organize everything he has to do. However, every time he goes to the barbershop, he gets frustrated because he has to wait a long time for his turn. And if he calls, sometimes the barber is too busy to answer the phone. It would be great if there were an app that allowed him to schedule an appointment with the barber, showing all the available booking slots, the estimated time of his turn, and notifying him about any changes.
The Goal
Design a solution that improves Marcus's experience when booking a spot in the barbershop, taking into consideration his pain points during his journey.

Research & Understand
After identifying the main pain points, I defined the target audience for interviews by creating user personas. These personas helped me gather the necessary feedback to begin shaping the solution. The interviews provided valuable insights into user needs and preferences. Based on these insights, I used the Crazy 8's technique to brainstorm a wide range of ideas and then refine them into a final solution.

Interview insights

- "When I go to the barbershop, I can't decide which barber to choose because I don't know if he's good or I can't see any examples of his cuts."

- "I want to use an app or something similar to have more control over my appointments, request new ones, and cancel my turn if necessary."

- "I'd like to have easy contact with the barber and see the available times to book with him."

- "Something I consider important when going to the barbershop is when the barber has time available and secures my spot."

- "A mobile app would be useful because it provides easy access anytime, anywhere.

Crazy 8’s

Based on the interview insights, I started to write and draw, all possibles solutions that could be apply to improve the user experience and offer a good way to solve the problem.
Hypothesis

After put all the ideas in a paper, the one that fits more with the user expectations was selected.

A mobile application could be a good solution for this problem because of the following reasons:

- It could include all the most of the features
that the user needs.

- The user can have access to the platform and
make appointments any place, any time.

- Because of the multiple ways that it can
help the user to communicate with
the barbers.

Design System
Using atomic design, I established a scalable design system to create a consistent and efficient user experience platform-wide. This included a unified visual language and a comprehensive, adaptable component library, simplifying design and ensuring long-term consistency.
